Derrick Henry's third touchdown gave Baltimore the breathing room it needed after a spectacular first half turned into a quieter, injury-shortened afternoon for Zay Flowers.

Henry ran for 144 yards and three scores in the Ravens' 41-23 victory over Indianapolis on Sunday. Lamar Jackson added 324 passing yards and a rushing touchdown as Baltimore opened Jesse Minter's tenure with a road win and 506 yards of offense.

Henry also moved past Marcus Allen into third place on the NFL's career rushing-touchdown list, finishing the opener with 125. He averaged six yards over 24 carries, giving the Ravens a way to keep scoring after Flowers left with a hamstring injury.

Flowers opens the field

Indianapolis scored first on Jonathan Taylor's one-yard run, but Baltimore answered with four straight touchdowns. Jackson scored from five yards out, Henry followed from four, and Flowers turned a pass from Jackson into a 54-yard touchdown.

Henry's 32-yard scoring run with 5:04 left in the second quarter made it 28-6. Baltimore's official recap credited blocks from Rashod Bateman and Chris Moore on the run. Indianapolis never reduced the deficit below 14 points after that score.

Flowers caught five passes for a career-high 150 yards, all before halftime. His 49-yard gain on Baltimore's first offensive play helped set up Jackson's opening touchdown. The 54-yard score later made the Colts pay again for allowing him room after the catch.

Henry finishes the job

Taylor's second touchdown cut the margin to 28-13, but Tyler Loop ended the half with a 57-yard field goal. Indianapolis then held Baltimore scoreless in the third quarter while Spencer Shrader connected from 58 yards, trimming the lead to 31-16.

Henry restored the larger cushion with a three-yard touchdown at 12:46 of the fourth. Daniel Jones answered with a nine-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Warren, and Loop's 45-yard field goal completed the scoring.

Jackson finished 17 of 25 without an interception and added 40 rushing yards. Chris Moore contributed a 53-yard reception, while Mark Andrews caught four passes for 49 yards. Baltimore had enough alternatives to finish the win despite losing Flowers and rookie receiver Ja'Kobi Lane, who exited with a wrist injury. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport reported Sunday night that Lane fractured his wrist and is expected to miss several weeks. Further testing will determine the full extent of the injury.

Baltimore Beatdown's postgame analysis identified the two concerns that will follow the Ravens home: offensive-line penalties and the passing game's response when Flowers was unavailable. The final score left room to address both, but his health matters after he accounted for nearly half of Jackson's passing yardage.

Taylor finished with 98 yards and two rushing touchdowns for Indianapolis. Jones threw for 166 yards, one touchdown and one interception, while the Colts finished with 251 total yards against Baltimore's 506.

The Ravens host New Orleans next Sunday. Their first preparation week after a win will include sorting out a receiving group that lost two players during the opener; Flowers' return timetable remained unresolved, while Lane faces a reported absence of several weeks.
